About Us

Updated: Thursday July 27, 2017

The Smithville Medical Centre was established in 1970, and through changes and renovations over the years, we became the Smithville Medical Centre Family Health Team (SMC FHT) in the fall of 2008, bringing together the expertise of physicians, inter-disciplinary health professionals (IHP) and support staff continuing to proudly serve the Township of West Lincoln and the surrounding communities.

The Smithville FHT includes the following:

  • 8 Physicians
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Registered Dietitian
  • Registered Nurse Educators
  • Mental Health Counselors
  • Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN)
  • Venipuncture Technician
  • Receptionists
  • Office Support Staff

In addition, we support/supervise Learners (ie, medical students, clerks, residents) on their journey towards becoming a physician, nurse practitioner or mental health counsellor.

The FHT model of a group-approach to primary health care is designed to provide you and your family with the highest quality of care, closer to home.
